Jin won the 2015 Asia-Pacific Amateur at The Clearwater Bay Golf & Country Club in Hong Kong, China by one stroke over Australians Cameron Davis and Ryan Ruffels. After opening with 62 to take a two-stroke lead, Jin would never lose the lead as he followed with rounds of 68 and 69 to win the weather-shortened Championship. As reigning champion, he earned low amateur honors in the Asian Tour’s Thailand Golf Championship in 2015 and competed in the Masters Tournament at Augusta National in 2016. His younger brother, Bo Jin, went on to finish T-3 in 2021 in Dubai and runner-up in 2022 in Thailand in the Asia-Pacific Amateur.
