Toyoshima is making his first Championship start. He has won the Japan Mid-Amateur Championship five times, with victories in 2015, 2018, 2021, 2022 and 2023. Also in 2023, he recorded top-25 finishes in both the Japan Amateur Championship and George L. Coleman Invitational at Seminole Golf Club in Florida and made the cut in the Japan Open.
