Katano is making his first Championship start in 2025. Earlier this year, he won three World Amateur Golf Ranking events in New Zealand and finished runner-up in the Auckland Stroke Play and T-4 in the New Zealand Under-19 Championship. He also finished T-19 in the Boys 15-18 division of the Junior World Championships in San Diego.
