Lee won the 2013 Asia-Pacific Amateur at Nanshan International Golf Club in China by three strokes over Japan’s Shohei Hasegawa. In the weeks leading up to the Championship, he won a Korean Tour event and finished runner-up in his national open. Entering the final round with a one-stroke lead, Lee shot an even-par 36 on the first nine before making second-nine birdies on Nos. 12 and 15 to secure victory and become Korea’s second champion. In 2014, he competed in the Masters Tournament at Augusta National and turned professional later that year. Since turning professional, he has gone on to compete on the Korean Tour and Japan Golf Tour.
