With any championship comes preparation, and for the Asia-Pacific Amateur Championship (AAC), with invitations to The Open and the Masters Tournament on the line, that preparation is even more important.

For several participants in this month’s AAC in Thailand, that preparation came in the form of trips to one of two AAC Academies held in 2022.

The 13th edition of the Asia-Pacific Amateur Championship will be held from October 27-30, 2022 at Amata Spring Country Club in Chonburi, Thailand.

The Asia-Pacific Amateur Championship was created in February 2009 as a joint initiative to develop the game by the Asia Pacific Golf Confederation, the Masters Tournament and The R&A. An invitation to play in the Masters Tournament and The Open is given to the winner, while both the runner(s)-up gain a place in The Open Qualifying Series.

The typical 120-player field is annually comprised of the top male amateurs in the Asia-Pacific region representing the 43 Asia Pacific Golf Confederation member organizations.
